Fair Advantage Automotive Services is a locally owned automotive service provider based in Anamosa, Iowa, specializing in oil-based rustproofing and undercoating. We focus on protecting vehicles from corrosion caused by Midwest road salt, moisture, and harsh seasonal conditions.

With nearly a decade of professional automotive experience, we apply the same standards underneath your vehicle as we would on our own no shortcuts, no rushed jobs, and no one-size-fits-all solutions. Every vehicle is different and we will ensure that when it leaves it will be ready to withstand everything Iowa has to throw at it. 

As a technician who has worked across many areas of the automotive industry including detailing, glass, body repair, mechanical work, and diagnostics.  I’ve seen first-hand how destructive the environment we operate our vehicles in truly is. The Midwest’s seasonal road salt and moisture create a highly corrosive environment that slowly but relentlessly destroys vehicles, often resulting in thousands of dollars in avoidable repairs.

Throughout my career, we regularly faced severe rust-related failures: rotted structural components, frame rails, crossmembers, cradles, rocker panels, and frame reinforcements. 

As a mechanic, it was often devastating to inform customers that their vehicle required extensive repairs due to rotted and frozen fasteners, broken fluid lines, rust-jacked brake components, corroded electronics, or in the worst cases that their vehicle had become unsafe for road use and should be taken out of service entirely.

We knew there had to be a better way an affordable and practical solution to slow corrosion and extend vehicle life before damage reached that point.

That’s what led us to oil-based rustproofing and ultimately to Woolwax, an industry-proven product designed to protect vehicles in harsh conditions. By combining Woolwax’s lanolin-based protection with our years of hands-on automotive experience, we made the decision to focus on rustproofing and undercoating.

Since launching this side of our business in June 2025, we’ve experienced rapid growth and, more importantly, a growing number of satisfied customers who appreciate knowing their vehicles often significant investments are being protected for the long term. We take great pride in that responsibility and in helping keep our customers safer by preventing the damage caused by corrosion before it starts and slowing further corrosion on already rusted vehicles.
